Northern Riviera in Hibernation Shock

Al, I've been alarmed by the output of your widget of late. There seems to be some systematic southern bias built in. The plot has had very little snow, at least in comparison to Dallas, although it is now inaccessible to vehicles due to icing on the scarp slope. My car might get some of those new wheel socks for Christmas. November now seems like a long time ago but its afterglow should keep us going for a while.

  1. Super maps but I refute any notion that the widgets are biased even if the Met office is in Bracknell! Given your microclimate may be the resolution on the widget is not good enough hence the need to get our live weather link going in New Year with optional StanCam* showing you hard at work in the potting shed. May be the latter will be a subscription only service as it could generate significant income for the Blog.

Anyway getting back to the weather (what else is there to blog about) before I alert Thomsons and Thomas Cook to their new winter sun destination I checked out you favourite site for some more stats. It looks like your supberb sunshine figs are >170% of the norm for november but maybe its the new norm! I am off up to Templars square travel agent to see what they can offer me.

By the way stock up on stuff weather looks grim for you next couple of days - Cheers

StanCam* - got to be done a couple of cheap web cam cameras is all you need.

  2. Sorry for the recent silence. What with the 18 hour power cut followed by the 72 hour hangover from the office party, we are now into our fifth day without a home telephone. Valerie reckons the resident mouse has been at the cable and I have visions of the littl'un, in the wall beneath the bay window, tapping away at the keyboard ordering his Christmas shopping. You can't blame it, the shops round here don't offer a great choice. I obviously watched too much Tom and Jerry as a kid.

Anyway I'm warming to the webcam idea, although I'll probably need one of those panorama scanning ones to capture the full essence of the place. I am hoping for a raingauge in my Christmas stocking but, with the modest rainfall round here, I am not sure they offer value for money!
